A busy day of racing in the UK where the main action comes from a mixed card at Sandown. - Minella For Fitness – Sandown 2.35
Betting on the jump races on this Sandown card can be fraught with danger as this is the end of a long season for many of the horses, the ground has usually quickened up and many of them can be over the top.
As such backing a horse like Minella For Fitnesswho is favourite in an 18 runner handicap at the end of the season would usually be avoided. However this horse is very progressive, won very well last time at Aintree and will no doubt improve for the switch to the handling of Barry Geraghty from David Bass, despite the latter executing a perfectly adequate ride last time. The son of Westerner has been raised 9lb for that success but the form of the race looks very strong, he should improve for being help up longer around this stiffer track and not many of his rivals appeal as having much in hand of the handicapper.
